Kimmie’s life got pretty busy, but I was ok with that and was just waiting patiently for my package to come in the mail.    And oh boy was it worth the wait.  She sent me this awesome embroidered panel.

Ya see, my hubby and I had our first real date to go see the Lion King.  So this is definitely special!

But that’s not all!  Kimmie works for Misty Meadow Jams and sent me some little sample jars of jam and jellies.  She even included some shaker lids so that after the jam is all gone, I can use them for spices.  YAY!  I’m sure they are going to be delish.

And then look at all the other goodies I got.  She made me a pin cushion, sent me a little tiger cub that roars at me, new embroidery scissors, and a cute little jam spreader.

Oh yeah… I hit the jackpot!  What a great Saturday surprise!

Here’s the November Ninja BOM . The ninja fam is around the table ready to eat some turkey, sweet potatoes and salad. Yum!

Katie is my niece… and she’s is the cutest thing! She knew exactly what she wanted her Aunt KK to make her. A drawstring bag with three pockets – on the front for it to say “Katie”

and on the back for it to say “I love Zumbuddies.”  Now, being the aunt I am… that’s exactly what I did.

I used a batik green on the outside and a blue/pink batik on the inside.

Megan is a friend and we met when she started dating a great friend of ours – Brandon. Now… let me just say… Brandon rocks, so it’s no surprise to see him dating such an awesome gal as Megan. Both are extremely witty people. Before meeting Megan I don’t think I had ever met someone that kept up with horse races… but Megan loves horses and the races! So for her graduation I made her a tote bag and embroidered a horse on it.

The horse was a free coloring page somewhere on the net… can’t find it now, but I love how it seems to be moving.

Megan liked it and that’s all that matters. My daughter did try to steal it though…

Garden

We bought the book for square foot gardening.  I’ve been wanting a veggie garden – and support my local growers by going to the local farmer’s markets.  Some great veggies were bought (and eaten!) last year.  I thought I’d try my hand at gardening.  I don’t have much of a green thumb… so… well.. kinda scared here, but we’re giving it a try.

Mike and I made 4 boxes with wire mesh and weed stop material on the bottom.  Each one is 4ft by 4ft.

I had a guy from work (that also has a farm) graciously bring us some dirt/manure/compost.  And he brought it over for free!  Then I had some free labor (I love seeing my kids work and sweat! LOL) put it into the wheelbarrows and take it to the boxes.

Then we planted the seeds and plants that I bought.  Now we are just praying it grows!  The pic below was taken at 4:00 pm, so the boxes get alot of full sun before the shade creeps in on them.

I had to take this pic- it is of Addie, the neighbors sweet dog.  She was quite curious what we were doing in our yard.

Alphabet Inchies Swap

I’ve participated in another inchie swap on Craftster.  This time it was the alphabet.  I made mine and sent them off, but I haven’t gotten all my inchies back yet.  I’ll have to post what I get later, but here are the inchies I sent out.

EEPP Swap – My loot!

I have also received from my partner in the EEPP Swap.  She really nailed “me” and my personality.  Look at this awesome embroidered panel she made me! 

And then look at this cute magnet!  The girl really went all out and I’m so very excited!

Tea Towel Set

I’m working on a 3 tea towel set for the awesome couple that gave us that garden soil.  I’m not finished yet, but here’s a pic of the first one done.

And this is the one I’m working on now.  The third is a duck.  All the patterns are from Hoop Love on flickr (LOVE FLICKR!)

Angel BOM

I’ve been working on a embroidered BOM quilt that will be a Christmas present this year.  I am not behind on it (yay me!) and this is the WIP for April’s pattern, with Jan-Mar in the back ground.  I’m doing it in all blue work.  Can’t wait to see it finished!

Belize

Crab Apples

And, I’ve been doodling.  I’ve been inspired by quotes lately and created this new embroidery pattern.  Well, then instead of stitching it – I watercolored it.

It’s going to my hairdresser David.  He’s an awesome guy and doesn’t charge us much.  He’s been having this one customer kinda of grate on his nerves (and we’ve been praying about it).  So I made this sign for him to hang in his booth area.  Maybe she’ll get the point?
