I’ve got two swaps going on right now that I’m working on right now. And as a promise to myself to show more about the process of creating, here a post to show my sketches and how I’m working through these two swaps.
First is one where I’m swapping mug rugs. I knew I wanted to go with rainbow in theory/color play with a gray neutral.

This is the mug rug top I chose to do. As you can see it’s similar to the top right one, but has gray space in between the colored blocks like the top left one.
I’m not sure how I’m going to quilt it right now… though I’ve gotten a lot of ideas
And then for the doll quilt swap I’m going to be doing this quilt idea of wonky houses.
There may be a few surprises in the quilt
But overall, these are going to be the fabrics. Lots of different lines/designers, but all modern. The Wordplay will be the grass, dark gray Kona solid will be the sky with a wonky star in each one, and then there is the colorful fabrics, each one represents a roof or a house or a door or a tree or a … well you get the idea

The quilt design was really thought over and has some meaning behind it. I do hope my partner will love it!
