Spreading Joy

So several of you (the whole 3 people that probably follow this blog) know that I’ve started co-leading a group of 9th grade girls through our church. I have been so very blessed with the gals that were already leading the group. They just brought me right on in, gave me a hug and accepted me. I, of course, was stressing in the beginning. Second guessing God – “Do you really want me to lead these girls? What if I totally mess them up?”. But He knew what He was doing, and these other gals just really made the transition a joyful one.

To show my appreciation and to spread joy, I craft for others. I rarely make anything for myself. I think this is something alot of us do.

Dez
Dez is an amazing gal. She’s the youngest leader in the group, but so strong in her convictions. She’s the one that got me hooked on LeCrae and several other Christian rappers. She can also give a great shoulder massage! She’s absolutely an amazing photographer. Even gave me a couple of hints on how to get better pics! Here’s the camera strap I made her with her name embroidered on it.

Ally

Ally is so sweet! She’s a senior at the local college and I know God has big things planned in her life. She amazes me with her ability to just pull out Bible verses at the right moment. I’m not a great memorizer (yet!), but she’s given me some pointers on that! She also loves to bake – and she’s promised a great granola recipe to be sent my way. I made her a cute apron for her to wear when she bakes ME something… hehehe.

Jenni

Jenni is simply incredible. I see her as the glue – the one pulling us all together, keeping it all together. She’s had such a great impact in so many people’s lives because of her faithfulness. She also has an incredible smile that lights up the entire room. Being very much a newlywed, you can see such love in her and her hubby’s eyes. So I made them a set of embroidered hand towels with quirky love sayings.

All in all, each of these gals play a very important role in our cell group. They have wonderful testimonies, they are real, and they have a love of God that just illuminates from them. The definitely let their little lights shine – and I’m so thankful I get to see their light.
