Handprints on the Wall

I’ve been craving to craft lately, but with a very needy newborn it’s proven more difficult than I anticipated. Luckily my husband had a few days off work and since he was home to care for the baby I decided to do a little family project. I love to document the growth of our children and our life and decided I would make a little art for the hallway incorporating that.

I painted four canvases with two different colors. Make sure to get the canvases that are seam free on the edges for a more finished look.

I then had each family member paint their hand in the opposite color and put their hand print on the canvas.

It’s that simple, now hang your canvases and enjoy your new personalized artwork!

We would love to see your Handprints on the Wall Art, just upload to our flickr group!

I saw something like this in the Red Envelope catalog and have been dying to do it. I think it will be mothers/fathers day gifts for the grandparents from us this year. Thanks for the demo!

  6. What a cute idea! I’m going to give this a try, we only have the one child so maybe I could do mine and my husbands handprints too to make a family piece of art!

I love this idea. I have a wall on my upstairs landing that my children’s handprints would look perfect on. Thank you for the inspiration.
