This past weekend, I was invited by a friend to her cabin. It’s only an hour and 1/2 away in the Ozarks, but being there felt like you were many miles away.
I drove up at nighttime, taking all those dark, twisty roads up a mountain, through small towns. Now let me tell you – I was scared to death! Having an overactive imagination and a love for mystery/crime dramas did not work to my advantage during this drive to the cabin.
I can laugh at it now, but I was seriously freaking out for a while. So thankful I could talk to God about it and He helped me calm down a notch or two.
When I arrived, I only knew one person, but quickly the group became friends. The cabin was beautiful and the fall leaves colored the scenery well.
I’d show you pics of the beautiful area, but… well…. who had time to take pictures when I was scrapbooking?
I have never done the real scrapbooks. I play with digital scrapbooking. I like digital scrapbooking.
It’s pretty quick if you know Photoshop, and I love printing out little bragbooks for my mom and mother – in- law to have. However, I’ve figured out that having these real life lumpy, bumpy pages are just… well..
AWESOME! I love how my pages turned out, even though I was averaging 2.5-3 hours PER PAGE to complete.
Everyone was quick to share tips and supplies. We had not one, but TWO Cricuts. Yes, I’ve fallen in love for a paper cutter.
What does upset me just a bit is that there is no real good way to show you these pages electronically. I’ve taken pics at every angle, tried scanning, took more pics and have yet to capture how great they really look in real life. It’s kind of like scratch and sniff, there’s no way for your to fully engage in a scratch and sniff sticker over the internet.
I’ve tried showing some of these layouts up close so you can see the detail. These pages
have great dimension to them, and my love of all things shiny (aka glitter and glitz) is evident.
I’m not going to toss digital scrapbooking completely aside, but real lumpy bumpy pages are definitely better in my opinion.
Great – just what I needed – another craft to spend hours of time on! LOL I’m sure that WIP pile of mine will be growing…
Keep Kraftin’,
